Sekar from Chennai. He works as a camera mechanic. Due to his great work of feeding the parrots, he is famous with the name “The Birdman”.
He Says that It has been 25 years since I came to this place. Initially, I used to keep rice and other food grains along with water on my parapet wall. Those times, Sparrows, squirrels and other small beings use to come and eat these grains.
And then, one day surprisingly during the Tsunami period, two parrots came and sat by.
In 10 years today, the numbers have become 2000-3000 parrots, and during rainy season they soar up to 4000 parrots.
I wake up by 4:30 AM every morning. Its takes 30 minutes to prepare the rice to be served. Then I start arranging the racks, 14 racks in arrow, and start placing the rice on them. I finish this arrangement around 5:45 AM. And by 6 Am sharp, all the parrots from far, fly in and assemble promptly. The same way in the evening, they start by 4 PM and have their food till 6, 6:30 PM.
In these 10 years,I might have missed a meal at times. But not once have these parrots missed a single meal any time any day.
When every human being is contended with what they have, the thought of service naturally happens in them. Its all a love; love that turns into service.
From my Camera profession, I spend 40% to these parrots and then for my family, Life is going on happily this way.
Love is universal. Its is not to be shown conditionally or variably to being. Let it be a small living being or the kids in our home, we should love them all the same way.
Love is life. A love-based life is the real way of life. Living such a compassionate life is everyone’s duty, my duty and your duty too.
