Rape accused Nithyananda who fled the country has been all over social media after he allegedly bought an island near Ecuador and declared it as a âHindu nationâ. The Gujarat Police has booked Nithyananda for child abuse and kidnapping after four children were rescued from a flat near his ashram in Ahmedabad, in November this year.
The Karnataka trial court had also issued charges against him in June 2018. Nithyananda faces trial under Sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sex), 114 (criminal abatement), 420 (cheating), 201 (disappearance of evidence, giving false information), 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
While several Indian agencies are busy searching for this rape accused god-men who apparently fled from India. Amid this lookout, a photograph of a man touching his feet has become viral on social media platforms. It is being claimed that the man in the photo touching the Godmenâs feet is Indiaâs present Home Minister Amit Shah.

Claim
The photo of Amit Shah touching Swami Nithyanandaâs feet is viral on social media sites and the photo is considered to be true.
Fact Check
On performing the reverse search we came across the same photograph on the official website of Swami Nithyananda. According to the website, the disputed photo dates back to 9th July 2017. As per the information provided on the website that particular photo was taken when Jagdishwar Goburdhun, the High Commissioner of Mauritius in India, visited his ashram popularly known as Nithyananda Peetham in Bengaluru on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima.
Other than these particular photographs, many more similar photos from the same occasion are also there on the website. Also, the national flag of Mauritius can be seen in the viral image.
Conclusion:
The man seen touching Swami Nithyanandaâs feet is the High Commissioner of Mauritius in India, Jagdishwar Goburdhun and not Indiaâs Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
