44 years is a long time, in that much amount of time everything can change but what not has changed is the common men’s struggle in our country. But there laws and acts, if passed, can make life of a common man a bit easier.RTI is one of them.

Meet Anil Kumar Singh, who is now 65 years old, has to wait for 44 years to get the gold medal he was eligible for. He had secured highest marks in Inorganic chemistry in 1971 and was to get the M Raman gold medal in convocation but convocation didn’t happen and none of the medals were distributed.

Whenever he enquired about his medal, every time he got the same reply that if convocation doesn’t held a year, the university doesn’t award medals or degrees thereafter. Tired with the monotonous replies, he filed an RTI on March 24 and he got the reply that if Vice Chancellor, Lucknow University accepts his application for it, he might get the medal.
