Hyderabad police slammed event organisers after actress Nidhhi Agerwal was mobbed by an unruly crowd.

On Wednesday evening, a promotional event for the film “The Raja Saab” turned into a nightmare for actress Nidhhi Agerwal at Lulu Mall in Hyderabad.

While attending the launch of the song “Sahana Sahana,” the actress was mobbed by an unruly crowd that breached security cordons and her personal space. Visibly shaken and distressed, she had to be physically shielded by bouncers to reach her vehicle.

Local police have since intervened, revealing that the event was conducted without official permission, leading to a massive security lapse. This incident has reignited a fierce global debate regarding the safety of female celebrities in public spaces and the lack of civic decorum among fans today.

Nidhhi Agerwal Mobbed

The event was organized to promote the highly anticipated Prabhas-starrer “The Raja Saab,” with Nidhhi Agerwal and director Maruthi in attendance. Thousands of fans descended upon the mall’s lobby, creating a high-pressure environment from the start.

While the initial proceedings were celebratory, the situation spiralled out of control the moment the actress attempted to exit the venue. The lack of a clear exit strategy allowed the crowd to surge forward, trapping Nidhhi in a sea of people.

As fans jostled for selfies and proximity, the actress was seen clutching her outfit and looking terrified, highlighting a complete breakdown in order at the Hyderabad mall.

Security Lapses

Following the viral footage of the manhandling, the Hyderabad police issued a stern statement regarding the incident. According to official reports, the event organisers had “not taken any permission” from the authorities to host such a large-scale gathering.

Consequently, there was no official police deployment to manage the thousands of fans who had gathered. The police flagged this as a major security lapse on the part of the movie’s promotional team and the mall management.

Without a designated “safe zone” or barricaded pathways, the private bouncers were overwhelmed, leaving the actress vulnerable to the aggressive physical proximity of the mob throughout the exit.

Viral Footage Sparks Outrage

Videos of the incident quickly went viral, showing the actress struggling to breathe as people pushed past security to get close to her. Upon reaching the safety of her car, Nidhhi was heard exclaiming, “What the hell was that?” reflecting her trauma.

Netizens and industry colleagues have condemned the “vulture-like” behaviour of the crowd. Many pointed out that even in a high-budget film promotion, basic human dignity was ignored.

The incident serves as a grim reminder that public adoration often crosses the line into harassment. Critics are now demanding strict legal action against the organisers for putting a woman’s safety at risk for the sake of promotional optics.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

At The Logical Indian, we believe that no amount of stardom justifies the violation of an individual’s personal space or safety. This incident is not just a failure of management; it is a reflection of a deeper societal issue where celebrities are viewed as public property rather than human beings.

True fandom should be rooted in respect and kindness, not in aggressive entitlement. We strongly advocate for stricter regulations regarding public events to ensure such traumatic experiences are never repeated.
