Two Sons Of A Daily-Wage Earner Crack IIT Entrance Under 500 Rank

Dharmraj Saroj from Pratpagarh, Uttar Pradesh has a lot to celebrate about, but a lot to worry about as well.

Both of his sons have cracked the IIT entrance exam. Raju secured an All-India rank of 167 while his elder brother Brijesh secured a rank of 410. Both are elated with the result. They worked hard and had a history of academic excellence. Both scored over 95% in their 12th, after which they landed in a scholarship programme.

Dharamraj realizes the hard work his sons put into the exam preparations. But he isn’t celebrating. He’s lost sleep over rustling up 1 lakh (Rs 30,000 admission fee and Rs 20,000 for the first semester) to get the boys admitted to the country’s best engineering institution. “True, it’s a great achievement, but we’re worried about making it, that too before the June 25 counselling date. Banks would give us loans only after we get admission,” Raju told reporters.

Brijesh has big dreams; he wants to opt for electrical engineering and after finishing IIT he wants to prepare for the IAS entrance exam. He believes he can do a lot for society after becoming district magistrate. He believes there is a lot of talent in villages, sometimes students themselves don’t recognize it or give up because of poor facilities, but if one commits to a dream he can achieve it.

Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani on Saturday waived the registration fees for two brothers

The Logical Indian congratulates both the brothers for their success and strong will to achieve their dream despite coming from such a humble background. We also appreciate all those who came forward to support their father financially. Talent is nobody’s monopoly; with hard work and dedication anyone can achieve success if not in one field definitely in other.
