Tusshar Rishi: After going Chemotherapy For 11 Months Secure 10 CGPA

“They say ‘where there is a will, there is a way’. But this story is more along the lines of ‘stronger the will, greater the power’.

Meet Tusshar Rishi, a student of Delhi Public School Ranchi, who has just scored a perfect 10 CGPA in his class 10th board examinations. The achievement sounds impressive on its own doesn’t it?
Well, there’s a lot more to him than just being a great student.Tusshar was diagnosed with bone cancer last year which forced him into treatments instead of being able to attempt his exams. He was under medical care at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi, for 11 months and when he returned to Ranchi in January, he had no more than two months to prepare for the exams. His school gave him support and the school authorities sought special permission from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to let him appear for the exams. He did. And then the scores he achieved bookmark his remarkable effort.

“He is one of our brightest students. We wanted to give all possible support to him,” said Ram Singh, the school Principal.

As far as his current state of health is concerned, he lives a normal life. However, since there is a chance of the cancer returning, he lives with some precautions. He also has to visit AIIMS once every three months.
“It is high time we realize that cancer is curable. People as young as Tusshar fight the disease and emerge victorious,” Tusshar’s mother said.
So…what’s your excuse?”
