It is a proud moment for India that a teenager whose family has been a victim of insurgency in Manipur will get an opportunity to voice the opinions of his fellow inhabitants at the 70th session of United Nations General Assembly to be held at the headquarters, New York, USA from 18th-27th September.

Konkham Lamjingnganba has been selected as the lone representative of insurgency hit Manipur and the seven sister states by with Big Sisters’ League, a registered non-government organisation based in Manipur capital Imphal. The NGO works for prevention of sexual abuse and rehabilitation of the victims.

Being a victim of violence himself, Lamjingnganba will indeed be an apt speaker. He is the son of visually impaired Gangarani who lost her husband in a firing incident few years ago. He will speak on the aftermath of violence and urge the world community to establish 6 % of GDP for education and 5% for health as the international standard to be followed globally.

There will be nine others from Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telengana, West Bengal and Uttarakhand to speak at the UNGA.
