A 31 year old man allegedly beat his four year old daughter to death in Faridabad’s Sector 58 on Wednesday after she failed to write numbers from 1 to 50 correctly in Haryana.
The accused, Krishna Jaiswal, reportedly used a rolling pin to assault the child and slammed her on the floor during a homeschooling session at their rented accommodation in Jhadsaentli village.
Initially, Jaiswal attempted to mislead his wife and doctors by claiming the girl had fallen down the stairs, but the truth was revealed by the couple’s seven year old son who witnessed the brutality.
Following a complaint by the child’s mother, Ranjeeta Kumari, the Faridabad police arrested the accused on Thursday and he was sent to a one day police remand by a city court on Friday.
Haryana Horror
The tragic incident highlights a disturbing environment within the household, where routine academic expectations were met with extreme violence. Krishna Jaiswal, a native of Kheratiya village in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district, worked night shifts at a private firm while his wife worked day shifts.
This arrangement left Jaiswal responsible for the children’s supervision and education during the day. Investigating officers and neighbours have noted that Jaiswal was a habitual drinker who frequently subjected his family to physical abuse.
The four year old victim, Vanshika, was a student at a local government school in Jhar Setli, and her failure to meet an academic milestone during a private tutoring session with her father became the fatal trigger for a man already prone to rage.
Revelation Of Violence
The sheer brutality of the attack left the child with over a dozen bruises, fractures, and severe head injuries. According to the police, after the child collapsed, Jaiswal rushed her to the Ballabgarh civil hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The cover up attempt fell apart when the couple’s son disclosed the reality of the assault to his mother late Wednesday night. “The accused slammed the girl onto the floor and beat her with a kitchen implement in a fit of rage,” stated Inspector Azad, Station House Officer of Sector 58 police station.
Faridabad Police spokesperson Yashpal Yadav confirmed that a murder case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and forensic teams are currently corroborating medical findings from the post mortem report with the crime scene evidence.
The Logical Indian’s Perspective
At The Logical Indian, we are profoundly shaken by the loss of a life so young to a cause so trivial. Education is meant to be a tool for liberation and growth, not a justification for violence or a source of terror.
This incident is a harrowing reminder of the urgent need for community intervention in cases of domestic abuse and alcoholism, which often simmer behind closed doors until they boil over into tragedy.
We believe that no child should ever fear their parent, and as a society, we must foster an environment where “discipline” is never confused with brutality. We stand with the grieving mother and surviving siblings, advocating for a world built on patience and empathy.
