The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested four more prime suspects in connection with the 10 November blast near the Red Fort in Delhi, taking total arrests in the case to six.
The accused include three doctors from Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh and played key roles in the terror attack that caused multiple deaths and injuries.
The NIA continues intense interrogations and is working closely with state police forces to dismantle the entire terror network behind the attack. The probe revealed plans for sophisticated drone-based rocket attacks aimed at high-security areas.
Red Fort Car Blast Accused
The newly arrested accused are Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai from Pulwama, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay from Shopian, all in Jammu and Kashmir, along with Dr Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
They were produced before the Patiala House Court and remanded to 10-day NIA custody for ongoing interrogation. These arrests followed earlier detentions of Amir Rashid Ali, the registered owner of the car used in the bombing, and Jasir Bilal Wani, alias Danish, who provided technical support to the terrorists.
The NIA took over the investigation immediately after the attack, under the Union Home Ministry’s directive.
A Bigger Terror Module in Delhi Blast
Investigators reportedly uncovered a highly organised terror plot involving a “white-collar terror network” with close coordination across states. The accused had been working on modifying drones to launch rocket-style bombs, taking inspiration from tactics used by groups like Hamas and ISIS.
These drones were reportedly intended to be rocket-delivery systems capable of causing mass casualties and widespread panic, focusing on high-security zones in Delhi.
The blast on 10 November involved a Hyundai i20 packed with improvised explosive devices (IEDs), killing 15 people and injuring many more. This incident came hours after police seized large explosives from Al Falah University in Faridabad, further revealing the network’s scale.
