In a major crackdown on illegal youth gatherings, the Rajendranagar Special Operations Team (SOT) raided a ticketed “Trap House Party” at Oaks Farmhouse in Moinabad, Telangana, detaining 65 people, including 22 minors.

The event, held without permission and promoted on social media, involved consumption of alcohol and narcotics. Two attendees, including the organiser Ishaan, a second-year college student, tested positive for ganja, and 10 bottles of foreign liquor were seized.

Entry was priced at ₹1,600 for singles and ₹2,800 for couples, with police suspecting Ishaan of hosting similar events previously. A case has been registered under Section 27 of the NDPS Act and other laws, and authorities have informed parents while probing the network of promoters and suppliers.

Raid and Immediate Findings

The Special Operations Team conducted a late-night raid on October 5, 2025, based on intelligence about a large, unauthorised gathering at Oaks Farmhouse in Moinabad. Upon arrival, police found 65 individuals, including 12 girls (five of whom were minors), indulging in alcohol and suspected drug use.

The farmhouse, operating without proper licensing, was transformed into a rave venue with loud music and dim lighting. Officers seized 10 bottles of foreign liquor and collected blood and urine samples from all attendees. Preliminary tests confirmed two individuals had consumed ganja, one being Ishaan, the alleged mastermind behind the event.

Ticketed Entry and Social Media Promotion

The party was not a casual gathering but a professionally organised, ticketed event advertised on Instagram under the handle “Trap House. 9MM,” which promised “an experience of joy you’ve never had in your life”. Tickets were priced at ₹1,600 for singles and ₹2,800 for couples, with payments likely made through digital platforms.

Police suspect the event was part of a larger network of similar parties, with Ishaan, who returned to India in 2024, being a regular drug user and repeat offender. The Instagram account, allegedly managed by a Hyderabad-based DJ, is now under forensic investigation for digital evidence linking to other organisers and suppliers.

Legal Action and Ongoing Probe

A formal case has been registered under Section 27 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for drug consumption and for hosting an illegal gathering that endangered minors. The Moinabad police have also booked the farmhouse owner, manager, and DJ for facilitating the event.

Parents of all 22 minors have been informed, and counselling services are being offered. Authorities are now tracing the financial trail of ticket sales and analysing mobile devices seized during the raid to dismantle the entire network.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

While the police action is necessary to uphold the law, this incident reflects a deeper societal issue: the lack of safe, inclusive spaces for youth expression. The Logical Indian believes that punitive measures must be paired with preventive strategies, better youth engagement, mental health support, and legal recreational options.
