The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has firmly addressed circulating rumours on social media regarding widespread cancellations of the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) 2025. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions confirmed that the recruitment test, held from September 12 to September 26, is progressing as scheduled across 129 cities.
Although some shifts at select centres such as Delhi, Gurugram, Jammu, and Mumbai were cancelled due to technical issues, the Commission has efficiently rescheduled those sessions to minimise candidate inconvenience.
Nearly three lakh aspirants have successfully appeared in multiple shifts daily, with SSC officials underscoring that the examination process remains on track. This statement from SSC is aimed at restoring calm amid concerns triggered by misinformation.

Exam Structure and Process
The CGLE 2025 is conducted in two tiers, with Tier 1 being a computer-based test of 60 minutes duration, consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions divided equally into four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Each correct answer carries two marks, with a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer.
The Tier 2 exam spans three papers covering Mathematical Abilities, English Language and Comprehension, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, and a Data Entry Speed Test (DEST). The exams are designed to test candidates’ reasoning, comprehension, mathematical, and technical skills comprehensively.
The SSC has implemented biometric verification and AI-based monitoring to uphold exam integrity and ensure transparency throughout the process.
Background and Challenges
The CGLE is among the most competitive government recruitment exams in India, attracting millions of applicants vying for over 14,500 posts. The initial days of the 2025 exam cycle saw several cancellations and technical glitches at some centres, prompting anxiety and speculation among candidates and on social media platforms.
However, SSC promptly responded by issuing clarifications denying the notion of widespread cancellations and ensuring rescheduled dates for affected test-takers. The Commission’s swift action highlights its commitment to a transparent recruitment process, protecting candidates’ interests and reducing exam-related uncertainties.
Candidate Complaints and Social Media Reactions
Despite SSC’s reassurances, many candidates have voiced frustration and disappointment across social media platforms regarding technical glitches and mismanagement during CGLE 2025. Aspirants report abrupt cancellations without prior notice, causing confusion and wasted travel expenses.
At the Gurugram centre, candidates shared videos showing chaos and frustration as exams were cancelled last minute due to server malfunctions. One candidate tweeted, “Still no official update while the exam start time passed. This is unfair and stressful.” Others lamented poor communication and lack of transparency from exam authorities, with some alleging issues like wrong centre allocation and biometric failures.
Protests and hashtags such as #SSCMisManagement have trended nationwide, with students demanding accountability and reforms. Some reports even mentioned minor clashes with security personnel when candidates raised concerns on-site.
The Logical Indian’s Perspective
It is critical during such high-stakes examinations that accurate information prevails to prevent unnecessary stress among candidates. The Logical Indian commends SSC for timely addressing misinformation and maintaining a fair examination environment for aspirants. We stand firm in promoting responsible sharing of verified information to foster peace, empathy, and trust within communities.
