A viral video captures cows and bulls roaming a Sidhi hospital, exposing ongoing safety, hygiene, and management failures.

A viral video showing dozens of cows and bulls roaming freely inside the Rampur Naikin Community Health Centre in Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh, has exposed glaring lapses in hospital management and hygiene. Patients, attendants, and staff were forced to share crowded spaces with stray cattle, leading to shock and anger across the state.

Despite being confronted with the crisis, officials-including the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr Prerna Tripathi-have not issued a remedial statement, and no punitive action against negligent staff has yet been announced. The incident has reignited public outrage and renewed demands for accountability from the state’s health authorities

Animals in Wards: Chaos and Distres

On Saturday night, at around 9 pm, social media erupted with visuals of the health centre effectively turned into a cowshed. The video revealed cattle sitting at the hospital’s entrance, in corridors, and inside even the BMO’s cabin, while patients and relatives awkwardly navigated the overcrowded facility.

Witnesses reported that staff made little effort to move the animals out, and CCTV cameras installed on the premises failed to provide any genuine oversight. In the video, the cattle are seen creating filth and obstructing movement, further jeopardising already-vulnerable patients.

A Pattern of Neglect, Not a One-Off Incident

This is not an isolated incident for the Rampur Naikin Community Health Centre. Just two months prior, a video showing a stray dog occupying a patient’s bed from the same hospital went viral, sparking earlier concern about the centre’s standards. While senior authorities did issue warnings and notices after that episode, there was no meaningful follow-through or staff accountability.

Consequently, the hospital has failed to prevent further breaches—this time, on a much larger and more visible scale. Residents allege that the head officer, Dr Prerna Tripathi, seldom visits and manages most operations from a distant office. When pressed for comment regarding the latest incident, Dr Tripathi declined to respond.

Public Outcry and Demand for Reform

As outrage grew online, community members labelled the hospital a ‘gaushala’ (cowshed) and criticised the administration for putting patients at risk. Social media posts by locals, including Satish Kumar Chaturvedi who shot and shared the viral footage, have received heavy traction from concerned citizens demanding strong intervention and the removal of negligent officials.

The absence of any substantive disciplinary action against staff has emboldened a culture of impunity, as conditions at the centre remain critically poor and patients’ welfare continues to suffer. Despite repeated exposure of such issues, state authorities have so far failed to introduce effective systemic solutions or reliable monitoring protocols.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

The Logical Indian strongly denounces the recurring breakdowns in basic patient care and safety revealed by this and previous incidents at Rampur Naikin. Every individual deserves dignified and hygienic medical treatment—without the added risk of stray animals wandering the wards.

Rebuilding public trust will require urgent enforcement of standards, official accountability, and sincere engagement with community concerns.
