The Tamil Nadu government has recently appointed eight accomplished athletes to government jobs under its 3% sports reservation policy. These appointments cover prominent departments including Revenue, School Education, MSME, and the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department.

Applicants must be Tamil Nadu natives, aged below 40 years (relaxed to 50 for Para-athletes), and meet required educational qualifications for the post they apply to. Eligibility includes athletes who have participated or medalled in senior-level state, national, and international competitions recognised by government and sports bodies after January 1, 2018.
The application window opened on August 25 and closes on September 24, 2025. Candidates are required to submit their applications online at the SDAT website along with all relevant certificates.
