The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) announced the supplementary (compartment) exam results for SSC (class 10) and HSC (class 12) on July 29, 2025, at 1 PM. The exams, conducted from late June to mid-July, offered a vital opportunity for thousands of students across the state to clear previously failed subjects or improve their marks.

Candidates can access their results through the official MSBSHSE portal — mahahsscboard.in — as well as affiliated websites by logging in using their roll number and mother’s first name. The Board has emphasised transparency, security, and efficiency in the evaluation and result-declaration process, ensuring students receive timely updates on their academic status.

Second Chances and Process: How to Check the Supplementary Results

The MSBSHSE conducted the SSC supplementary exams from June 24 to July 8, 2025, while HSC compartment exams ran until July 16, 2025, across nine divisional regions including Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Amravati, Latur, and Ratnagiri. These exams serve as a crucial second chance for students who narrowly missed qualifying in one or more subjects during the main board exams or wish to improve upon earlier scores.

Students can check their results by following these simple steps:

  1. Visit the official Maharashtra State Board website at mahahsscboard.in.
  2. On the homepage, click on the link titled Maharashtra Board Supply Result 2025 for SSC or HSC.
  3. Enter the roll number and mother’s first name as login credentials in the prompted fields.
  4. Submit the details to view the result.
  5. Download and save a copy for future reference and official use.

The supplementary results include detailed, subject-wise marks and a clear indication of pass or fail status. Additional official portals such as sscresult.mkcl.org and hscresult.mkcl.org also host the results to provide multiple access points for students.

For students unsatisfied with their results, the Board has opened a window for applying for photocopy verification or revaluation of answer sheets from July 30 to August 8, 2025, available through the official MSBSHSE website.

A Board spokesperson said, “We prioritised fairness, accuracy, and seamless digital access during this process, ensuring that students and educators across Maharashtra receive timely and dependable exam updates.” This emphasis is critical, especially given the large volume of candidates using the supplementary pathway to keep their academic hopes alive.

Context: The Significance of Supplementary Exams in Maharashtra’s Education Landscape

Supplementary exams are a longstanding cornerstone of Maharashtra’s education system, designed to provide students who faced academic challenges in the original board exams an equal chance to succeed without losing an academic year. For many students, these exams represent hope and perseverance—enabling continuation of education, reducing dropout rates, and supporting their pursuit of higher studies or vocational pathways.

In 2025, Maharashtra’s main board results saw a pass percentage of 91.88% for HSC and 94.10% for SSC, reflecting a competitive academic environment with robust student participation despite pandemic-related challenges and evolving curriculum standards.

The state government and MSBSHSE continue to modernise the examination framework by leveraging digital technologies to enhance accessibility, transparency, and efficiency—including online registration, digital admit cards, and now, online supplementary result declarations.

Students and parents alike have expressed a mix of relief and cautious optimism following the timely announcement. While many celebrate the opportunity to pass or improve, some also reflect on the need for continued academic guidance, emotional support, and skill development options beyond formal exams.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

At The Logical Indian, we acknowledge that supplementary exams are not merely a procedural formality but a vital instrument to promote equity, perseverance, and educational inclusion for millions of young learners in Maharashtra and across India. Timely, transparent, and accessible result announcements help empower students to assess their academic journeys and make informed decisions about their future — whether pursuing higher education, vocational training, or alternative career paths.

It is essential to reduce stigma associated with supplementary exams by fostering a culture of empathy and encouragement in schools, homes, and communities. Students facing academic hurdles deserve support, not judgement, as they navigate these critical milestones.
