Dozens of students from Bhattupalli village in Telangana’s Komaram Bheem Asifabad district staged a protest on Friday, July 4, 2025, blocking the rain-damaged Dahegaon–Andevelli–Battupalli–Kagaznagar road to demand urgent repairs after days of being unable to reach school.
The protest, which lasted over an hour and caused a significant traffic jam, ended after Kagaznagar Tahsildar Madhukar assured students that repair work would begin within two days. The students withdrew their protest following this official commitment, but the incident spotlights deep-rooted infrastructure issues affecting education and daily life in the region.
Muddy Roads, Blocked Futures
Wading through ankle-deep mud and rainwater, students from various government schools and junior colleges gathered on the battered main road, holding placards and voicing their frustration over repeated official apathy. The protest not only highlighted the students’ plight but also disrupted vehicular movement, with traffic blocked on both sides for over an hour until authorities intervened.
Villagers from nearby areas have echoed these concerns, reporting that slushy, waterlogged roads have made access to medical care and other essentials nearly impossible, especially during emergencies.

In other parts of the district, such as Somini and Gudem villages, residents have also staged protests or taken to social media to highlight the lack of motorable roads, fearing complete isolation during heavy rains and the absence of bridges.
