No One Should Die Because They Live Too Far From A Doctor The Logical Indian Crew

Healthcare is one of the biggest problems especially the rural population, does not have access to health services. Health care is right of every individual, And here is a man who is working towards providing healthcare to the world’s most remote locations.

Dr Raj Panjabi who decides to save lives establishing Last Mile Health which aims at widening access to health services for people living in the world’s most remote communities.

Raj Panjabi was born on Feb 3, 1981 was raised in Monrovia, Liberia, the Son of Indian Immigrants who had migrated to West Africa. When he was 9 Years, He and his Family Fled on a Cargo Plane to Sierra Leone and eventually resettled in United States. Later In 2005, Panjabi returned to Liberia.

He graduated with Bachelor and Medical degrees from The University of North Carolina School and received Master’s of Public Health From the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. And was a Physician at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

When he returned to Liberia in 2005 he was shocked to see the difficulties of healthcare for rural people in his state. And co-founded the Last Mile Health, which aims to widen access to health services for people living in the world’s most remote communities.

Last Mile Health saves lives in the world’s most remote communities by partnering with governments to recruit “community health workers” in these regions which can provide daily support and extra support in times of crisis.

During the Ebola Crisis, The organisation helped the government of Liberia’s and trained more than 1,300 health workers and community members on infection prevention and control at 38 clinics to help tackle the epidemic in southeastern Liberia.

Dr Panjabi was Ranked as one of “The World’s 50 Greatest Leaders” by Fortune in 2015. In 2016, named to TIME’s list of the “100 most influential People in the World”.On April 25, 2017 TED Prize was awarded to DR Raj panjabi.

He said “ I am shocked and humbled because I feel in many ways our work is only just beginning” During his TED talk.

Also says,” Help us recruit the largest army of community health workers the world has ever known, by creating the community health Academy, a global platform to train, connect and empower”.
