Her family was not surprised when 7-year-old Sanjana decided to donate her paintings to raise money for the children who are deprived of education. We can certainly call her a young philanthropist. When the Standard II student first learned to paint on canvas, she knew her talent was intended for a higher purpose. This amazing kid shared her wondrous story with The Logical Indian.
Sanjana Bhosale The joy of giving
Sanjana Bhosale lives in Vasai-Vihar, Maharashtra in western India. The champion of the poor from OES International School, Vasai has donated her artworks to help educate poor students, becoming a stellar example for other kids her age. Sanjana has donated five of her paintings themed in the message of hope, to Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF) – a non-profit organisation with a vision to help and uplift the needy in every possible way.
Her encouraging mother
Sanjana started painting with a private instructor a few months ago. She quickly learnt the ropes and started creating drawings ranging from landscape to human portraits.
When Sanjana’s mother Madhavi Bhosale saw her artwork, she asked her daughter if she was keen on donating the drawings to help educate needy kids. Madhavi said, “Sanjana jumped at the idea, she was so excited and happy about using her talent for a vigorous cause”.
Sanjana has worked on a special collection for the auction. “Since all her paintings are meant to help poor children, so her drawings are themed on the message of hope. For instance, the painting of the dancing girl represents ‘free spirit’, while that of the flying bird symbolises ‘following one’s dreams’,” she added.

Talented Sajana while articulating her feelings said, “I want to help people through my art. Everyone deserves a good life. And, we can work together to help them live a happy life”.
Artwork for auction
The Bhosale family decided to contribute the paintings to Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF), which was set up by Dr Aparna Govil Bhasker and Dr Debraj Shome in November 2016.
“Usually, children are very attached to their paintings and don’t like to give it to anyone. But, Sanjana, our youngest donor has surprised us,” said Dr Aparna Govil. She further added, “Children are our future and kids like Sanjana would be an inspiration to other people and children”.
Dr Debraj Shome while talking To The Logical Indian said, “Sanjana might be young, but she has shown a lot of maturity by reaching out to the poor”. He added, “The basis of our foundation is to empower people so that each one can uplift one more. One does not need to be rich or even a grown up to do that. Every little bit counts.
All her paintings have been uploaded on the official website of the DAF foundation and are available for sale respectively.
