Nisha Kumari, a woman from the Janakpur area of Gaya district, Bihar, has died under suspicious circumstances. Her father, Shravan Kumar, has allegedly accused her husband, Abhishek Kumar, of murder due to ongoing dowry demands and abuse.

Married since 2015, Nisha was reportedly facing escalating harassment, especially after the birth of her two daughters. A harrowing video, now widely shared on social media, allegedly shows Abhishek beating Nisha in front of their distressed children.

Police have registered an FIR against Abhishek and his family members, sent Nisha’s body for post-mortem, and are continuing their investigation. Meanwhile, Abhishek claims he was in Patna when informed that Nisha had allegedly consumed poison and later died during treatment.

A Family’s Nightmare: Details of the Incident

Nisha Kumari’s tragic death has sent shockwaves through her community and beyond. Her father, Shravan Kumar, has allegedly accused Abhishek and his family of regularly demanding money, ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹50,000, with the abuse reportedly intensifying after Nisha gave birth to two daughters.

The viral video, which has not been independently verified, allegedly shows Abhishek violently beating Nisha while their children plead for him to stop. Police officials have confirmed that an FIR has been lodged and the investigation is ongoing, with Nisha’s body sent for a post-mortem examination.

Broader Context: Dowry Violence and Public Response

This incident is part of a persistent pattern of dowry-related violence in parts of India. Nisha’s family claims that the harassment had allegedly been escalating for years, with repeated monetary demands and physical violence. The circulation of the video has intensified public outrage, with widespread demands for swift justice and stricter enforcement of laws against dowry and domestic violence.

Authorities are under pressure to ensure a thorough investigation and to hold the accused accountable. Abhishek, meanwhile, maintains his innocence, stating he was allegedly in Patna when he was informed of Nisha’s alleged poisoning and subsequent death during treatment.
