Should we even pay to breath fresh air? People in Delhi might consider of doing so as the city tops the WHO list of cities with foulest air.

But this has become a reality as Canadian Company Vitality Air is selling canned natural air and they plan to bring their product from the Canada to India. They have decided to price it Rs 12.50 per breath.

This canned air company was already making headlines as it was selling the product in China’s capital Beijing, where smog levels are almost equivalent to Delhi.

The founder of this company Moses Lam wanted to make something “disruptive” and thus he came up with the idea of canned air. It became quite popular in China and the Canadian company delivered almost 12,000 pieces to that country.

The cans consist compressed air, which comes in two flavours — Banff and Lake Louise. People have breath this air through masks. That air is made available in 3-litre and 8-litre cans, with twin-packs costing between Rs 1,450 and Rs 2,800.

If this product required in India, then it would be a shame for the Indian citizens that we will even have to pay for our natural resources. Till now, there was a cost of availing water in many parts of India, but now the situation has worsened and have to pay to breath fresh air. This clearly reveals how appalling is the condition of air in India, particularly in Delhi. A big is why the situation is so bad that we have buy air and it is also true that not everyone will be able to pay for breathing this air.

Even the condition in Bengaluru is also pretty serious. Researchers from The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) claim that the city will be unlivable and dead in the next five years. The alarming picture of Bengaluru reveals 525% growth in built-up area in the last four decades, 78% decline in vegetation 79% decline in water bodies. The lakes and trees that surrounded you have quietly disappeared as a result of the urban sprawl.
