The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 10 results for 2025 on May 13, with a national pass percentage of 93.66%. Over 2.37 million students participated in the exams, of whom 2,221,636 passed. Girls outperformed boys, with a pass percentage of 95.00% compared to boys’ 92.63%.

Trivandrum, Vijayawada, and Bengaluru emerged as the top-performing regions. The results are available on official CBSE websites, DigiLocker, and the UMANG app.

Students dissatisfied with their scores can apply for re-evaluation, and those who did not pass can register for the supplementary exams in July. CBSE officials have urged students to access results only through official channels to avoid misinformation.

Girls Lead the Way, Regional Excellence Shines

This year’s results underscore the continued academic excellence of girls, who outperformed boys by 2.37 percentage points. Trivandrum region topped the charts with a remarkable 99.79% pass rate, followed by Vijayawada (99.60%) and Bengaluru (99.34%).

Delhi West and Delhi East also posted high pass percentages of 95.64% and 94.42%, respectively. Notably, children with special needs (CWSN) achieved a 96.02% pass rate, with 411 scoring above 90% and 66 above 95%. In total, 45,516 students scored above 95%, and nearly 2 lakh students exceeded the 90% mark.

CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta stated, “The board’s focus on holistic development and reducing exam stress through relative grading has yielded positive outcomes, as reflected in this year’s results.”

A Year of Stability, Support, and New Initiatives

The 2025 CBSE Class 10 exams were conducted smoothly from 15 February to 18 March, across 26,675 schools and 7,837 centres nationwide. The board continued its policy of not releasing a toppers’ list to discourage unhealthy competition and prioritise student well-being.

Over 1.41 lakh students (5.96%) have been placed in the compartment category, slightly higher than last year. Students can access their digital mark sheets using their roll number, admit card ID, and school code on cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, DigiLocker, and UMANG.

CBSE has also provided a helpline for students and parents to address concerns related to results, re-evaluation, and supplementary exams. The board has emphasised that the online result is provisional, and original mark sheets will be distributed by respective schools.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

CBSE’s commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and student well-being is evident in this year’s results. The adoption of relative grading, the success of students from diverse backgrounds, and the emphasis on mental health reflect a progressive shift in India’s educational landscape.

As we celebrate the achievements of students across the country, it is essential to recognise that academic results are just one part of a young person’s journey. How can our education system continue to evolve to support every learner’s unique strengths and aspirations, ensuring that no one is left behind?
