A UK based news portal named TNN World whose stories were used by several senior Congress leaders to target the Modi government for corruption, demonetisation, and EVM controversies has gone offline. India Today in its investigation found that the sole director of the platform Dina Biciin, a Romanian national has now switched to a sensual massage service now called – Eva’s Tantric Massage.
TNN (Tri Color News Network Ltd) which described itself as “an independent, UK based news publisher” went offline on June 3 just two weeks after the election result in India were out.
Dina Biciin incorporated the new company on April 29 as its sole director. The UK fillings stated that she is still the sole director of Tri Color News Network Ltd, TNN’s parent company. According to A Whois record Lookup, Eva’s website was registered on April 24. The newly incorporated massage business by the owner promises to deliver “intimate sensual massage” across London.
Congress extensively used TNN World
Former Union minister Kapil Sibal and other leaders had earlier used TNN World’s sting operations to attack the BJP government in the run-up of 2019 general election. On March 26, Opposition leaders including Sibal, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Sharad Yadav, Ahmed Patel of the Indian National Congress, Hemant Soren of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, and Majoj Jha of the Rashtriya Janata Dal in a press conference at New Delhi’s Constitution Club, displayed a TNN World’s sting operation. The sting operation alleged that a BJP worker in Gujarat transacted banned notes after demonetisation for a commission of 40% post the deadline of exchanging demonetised notes.
Sibal in another press conference at Congress headquarters on April 9 used couple of TNN articles which purported that the BJP’s top leadership ran a money-exchange operation surreptitiously with officials from 26 different departments which also included RAW (Research and Analysis Wing).
Eight days later, Sibal again held a press conference based on the reports published by TNN World.
Various news platforms and BJP leaders questioned the authenticity of the articles and sting operations conducted by TNN World.
The portal also conducted its first Facebook live where it showed a hacker in London addressed a news conference. The event received backslash widely as the hacker’s claims were unsubstantiated.
Earlier, Nirmala Sitaram in a news conference has said that the TNN World’s website is registered for one year only and further insinuated that Congress might take down the website after the elections.
