The Bajrang Dal has directed all the organizers of ‘Garba’ and ‘Dandiya’ to ensure that Aadhaar card is made mandatory at entry points of every event, in an attempt to identify people from ‘non-Hindus’ communities.
“We have asked the event organisers to mandate Aadhar Cards at the entry spot to identify non-Hindus entering the venues and also to avoid employing Non-Hindus as bouncers for these events,” India Today quoted S Kailash, Media Convener, Bajrang Dal, as saying.
According to Kailash, they have observed in the last couple of years that “groups of youth of non-Hindu communities are entering these events and since they have no concern and respect towards the divinity of the event, they are often seen misbehaving with the women participating in Garba and Dandiya. They also manhandle the men who come to the rescue of the victim.”
He further claimed that the main reason these “miscreants” are able to enter the event, is because non-Hindu bouncers are being hired by the event managers. He said that there are major flaws in control and monitoring on who enters the events.
Bajrang Dal karyakartas, he claimed, will be present at the venues and will take immediate action if these people try to enter.
“We have asked the garba organisers to make sure no one plays with the sanctity of this Hindu festival. If a non- Hindu wants to play garba, he must first embrace Hinduism, drink gaumutra (cow urine) and then do garba,” AHP general secretary Ranchhod Bharwad was quoted by The New Indian Express as saying. “We will not tolerate if you come just for indulging in love jihad,” he said.
