In Shahjamal area of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, a 33-year-old Muslim Woman was allegedly asked to vacate her house by her landlord after she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on July 7.

The woman has been identified as Gulistana. She claimed that her landlord, Madina, ill-treated her before asking her to leave the place.

Gulistana lived in a rented house in ADA Colony in Aligarh.

On July 6, PM Modi launched BJP’s membership drive in Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency.

Gulistana joined the BJP Party on the same day at an event organised by the BJP Mahila Morcha’s Mahaveer Ganj Mandal Unit in the city.

She and a few others joined the saffron party in the presence of BJP’s women wing leader Rumi Asif Khan.

Later, pictures of the event were published in the newspapers, that’s when her landlord came to know that she has joined the party and misbehaved with her.

“I joined the BJP yesterday. When my landlord came to know she misbehaved with me and asked me to vacate immediately,” she told India Today.

According to reports, Gulistana and her child were harassed by Madina, the landlady and her son, Salman.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Akash Kulhary said that a case had been registered against Medina and Salman under IPC Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) at Delhi Gate Police Station.

However, Salman has denied all the allegations.

He told the media that the dispute took place due to non-payment of electricity bill of Rs 4000. He had three tenants staying in their house and the electricity bill was to be divided. He alleged that Gulistana refuse to pay the electricity bill.
