Anand Mahindra Replaces Plastic Bottles In All Meeting Rooms With Refillable Ones

At a time when corporates sell their products in plastic packaging and the middle-class segment is expected to use paper bags for the purchase of the same, Mahindra Group has set an example by replacing all plastic bottles in meeting rooms with refillable metal ones.

In July, Chairman Anand Mahindra shared a boardroom meeting picture on Twitter. One of his seven million followers pointed out the use of plastic bottles and suggested him to use refillable bottles instead. Later, when the suggestion came to Anand Mahindra, he vowed to ban plastic bottles completely in all boardroom meetings.

In the recent boardroom meeting, Mahindra introduced the new bottle. He took to Twitter to inform about the change and said, Our in-house ‘Mahindra retail synergies group’ has come up with these refillable bottles to replace plastic bottles In our meeting rooms entirely. Functional but also aesthetic, I think. Dhanyavaad Team!”.

The tweet in no time went viral and received appreciation on social media. Mahindra’s attempt to make corporate offices eco-friendly is an example for young entrepreneurs as to how a small change in our daily lives can help save the environment.

By keeping himself firm on his vows towards shunning the plastic bottles completely from the boardroom meetings, Mahindra gives an assurance that big stakeholders of the nation are responsible towards its betterment in every domain, and giving the required contribution. We hope that this act will soon emerge as much-needed new social media trend, and grow to the extent where all the segments and groups comprising the society come together for an environmental cause rather than blaming each other and showing anger on social media or in heated discussions during office breaks.
