Infosys Is World’s 3rd ‘Best Regarded’ Company, Beats Apple and Netflix: Forbes

India’s homegrown tech-giant company Infosys secured 3rd rank in the World’s Best Regarded Companies List compiled by Forbes magazine. The company was succeeded by Visa and Ferrari.

Infosys outdid companies like Apple, Netflix, Microsoft, Walt Disney, and Mastercard to clinch the third position.

The $45.1 billion company ascended to 3rd position from 31st position, which was awarded to in 2018.

The company provides IT consulting and software services, including e-business, program management and supply chain solutions. Infosys targets businesses specializing in the insurance, banking, telecommunication and manufacturing sectors.

Infosys is not the only Indian company that made it to the list, as many as 17 other Indian origin companies including TCS(22nd position), Tata Motors(31st position), and HDFC have been named in the list of World’s Best Regarded Companies.

The companies competed with 2000 global companies located across 50 nations to secure a place in top 250 World’s Best Regarded List.

The companies were ranked on the parameters of trustworthiness and reliability, social conduct, working environment and perks awarded to employees, and quality of their products and services.

Infosys was founded by Narayana Murthy in 1981. The Bengaluru headquartered company is the second-largest software exporter in India. The revenue generated by the company stood at a staggering $11.6 billion in the fiscal year 2019. Infosys has 204,107 employees and 1279 clients as of March 2019.

“Infosys’ leading position headlined an Asian invasion in the rankings. Although 59 of the 250 companies listed are based in the United States, still the most by a wide margin, the next three most-represented countries are Japan, China and India. Those nations combine to house 82 companies on the list, up from 63 last year,” Forbes said.

According to Forbes, in all, nearly half of the 250 best-regarded companies are based in Asia, making it the most dominant continent. Forbes collaborated with the Statista to gather data surveyed from 15,000 respondents from more than 50 countries.
