“Since Lord Ram is the ancestor of all of us, for Muslims as well. Hence, on behalf of the Wasim Rizvi Films Rs 51000 is being given to Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas towards the making of the temple,” said Wasim Rizvi, chairman, Shia Central Waqf Board, on November 14, Thursday.
Rizvi claimed that the verdict delivered by the Supreme Court on the decades-old Ayodhya land is the “best verdict” that could have been possible.
Shia Waqf Board was also one of the litigants in the Ayodhya land dispute matter and their petition was dismissed by the Supreme Court before concluding the final verdict.
The Supreme Court held that the land belongs to the government as per revenue records. Clearing the way for the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed land of Ayodhya, the SC ordered the Centre to form a trust that will look after the construction of the temple.
While the petition of the Shia Waqf Board which was filed in 2017, got dismissed by the SC. The board had claimed that the mosque at the disputed site was built by Mughal emperor Babur’s commander Mir Baqi, a Shia, and not the emperor himself.
In the Shia Waqf Board’s record, the Babri Masjid is named as Masjid Mir Baqi, which was under their control until 1944. However, the Chairman of the Board ‘gladly’ accepted the final decision of the court.
He further said that whenever the temple is built, the Shia Waqf Board will help in its construction. He also added that the Ram temple in Ayodhya is a matter of pride for ”Rambhakts” world over and in India.
