The brutal gang-rape and murder of the Hyderabad vet has sent shock waves across the nation. It has angered the public like never before.

The four arrested perpetrators have been identified as Mohammad Pasha, Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen, and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu. While Pasha worked as a lorry driver, the other three used to work as cleaners.

A day after the 27-year-old veterinary doctor was raped, murdered and burnt, the mother of the accused had demanded that her son be burnt alive.

The mother Chennakesavulu alias Chinna said: “If my son is wrong, burn him the same way she was burnt. Isn’t the victim also the daughter of a mother? I am suffering today, I can imagine what the girl’s mother is going through.”

The accused pre-planned the rape and murder of the veterinarian who was returning from Gachibowli after meeting a dermatologist, and had parked her two-wheeler near the Tondapalli Toll Plaza. In a final call to her younger sister, the vet expressed her anxiety and fear after she was stranded on the road.

The accused punctured the tyre of her vehicle, ambushed her, gang raped and murdered her. They then burnt her body, which was discovered the next day.
