You must have seen people around you who suffer from a cleft lip or palate. It is basically a gap or split in the upper lip, the roof of the mouth (palate), or sometimes both. In India, more than 35,000 children are born with cleft every year. Apart from basic health and nutritional issues, children with untreated cleft also face social discrimination, have a complex with their look, live with low self-esteem and face difficulties in mingling with people.

But did you know a simple 45-minute corrective surgery can heal the Cleft?

It’s good to see Himalaya Lip Care in association with Smile Train providing free cleft lip surgery to help such kids via the ‘Muskaan’ initiative.

Watch this heart-warming story of Jyothi from a village in Karnataka who had been living with cleft lip for 14 years and how her life got changed after the surgery.

Let’s help spread ‘Muskaan’!
