Workers of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) burnt down an auto-rickshaw in Andheri. The incident comes a day after MNS leader Raj Thackeray instructed his cadres to set ablaze every auto rickshaw in the city which has been granted permits lately by the state government led by the coalition of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena. Raj Thackerey had slammed the incumbent government for issuing large numbers of auto licence to non-Marathi’s.

The burning of the auto happened on Thursday right next to the RTO office in Andheri. An eye witness claims MNS workers had stopped the rickshaw on the road and forced the driver to vacate the rickshaw. The unidentified miscreants wore MNS flags around their necks and they raised slogans of Jai Maharashtra and Raj Thackeray Zindabad while burning the rickshaw.

Yes, it is a question of few people who were guilty, still, let us not be too late in condemning in severe terms MNS efforts in creating tensions on linguistic basis. Tensions based on languages is not new to Maharashtra and that is why the administration should intervene quickly and bring the guilty to the books to send out a clear message to miscreants that the rule of law will prevail. Unity is an enabling factor for prosperity and sacrificing unity will certainly damage the prospects of prosperity.

The Logical Indian appeals to the people to spread the word of unity and also raise your voice condemning the speech and the consequent acts of the miscreants. We appeal the government of Maharashtra compensates the auto driver who lost his vehicle and livelihood.  Let us raise our voice before this issue escalates further and blows out of proportion.
