Imagine a sustainable free world for every individual; a world where dignity is considered as important a basic need as food, water and shelter are, a world free of human trafficking! While most will deride this as merely idealistic, impractical and overly optimistic, there are few out there who have dedicated their entire lives to this mission.

The reality which most of us see is actually a denial of what the reality actually is. It isn’t realistic to talk about human trafficking as an incurable disease, or to consider it as a problem, which doesn’t concern us. It is pessimistic to do so. There is a solution. And the solution lies with us. We are the change. We are the change-makers. We don’t have to be just a mere spectator, we together can make a difference.

‘Freedom Matters—a call for action against human trafficking’ is not just a documentary, it is an answer to the problem of human trafficking.  It shows simple steps that each one of us, irrespective of our profession or educational background, can take against one of the largest organised transnational crimes today—human trafficking.

The documentary takes you on a journey of hope and inspiration amidst the grave reality of the crime. It features Nobel Peace Laureate 2014 Dr Kailash Satyarthi, and Indian cinema actor and director Ms Kalki Koechlin, besides other eminent activists and researchers.

This documentary is directed in association with an India based production house, The Storygraphers.
