Good Friday is a Christian Religious day that commemorates a day of suffering and death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion on  Calvary Hills.

Why is it called “Good”?
Christians celebrate this day as to be the momentous weekend in the history of the world. Ever since Jesus died, Christians have proclaimed the cross and resurrection of Jesus to be the decisive turning point for all creation. It is considered as ultimate sacrifice for our sins. The name is appropriate because the suffering and death of Jesus, as terrible as it was, marked the dramatic culmination of God’s plan to save his people from their sins.

How Good Friday is observed?
Good Friday is commonly celebrated with a service in the evening in which Jesus Christ’s death is remembered with prayers and hymns of thanksgiving and a message with respect on how Christ suffered for mankind. Many Christians spend this day in fasting, prayer, repentance, and meditation on the agony and suffering of Christ on the cross. People don’t greet each other unlike Christmas or Easter.

So yes, Good Friday is indeed an important occasion for the Christian community however it is not an occasion where they greet each other nor others greet them.
