Airtel Zero is a new platform offered by Airtel, wherein the end users will pay nothing to access some specific websites, gaming portals and ecommerce portals. There would be no data charges for those customers who opt for Zero Airtel, and chose to access only a few specific sites.
CEO of Bharti Airtel has addressed a letter to their customers that how Airtel Zero doesn’t violate Net Neutrality but even TRAI has said that both Airtel Zero & Internet.Org are against Net Neutrality and violate Free Internet.
Dear Logical Indians, we believe that the neutrality of the internet must be maintained at all costs. If you agree with us, please email the below to the addresses mentioned.

Chairman and Group CEO of Bharti Enterprises. The ongoing debate about net neutrality got fueled after Flipkart joined your Airtel-Zero service wherein users accessing few selected websites through your network could do it for free. While on the surface it appears like a win-win situation for all, on closer scrutiny it becomes obvious that such steps could have dire consequences for net neutrality in India.
While major companies such as Flipkart can afford to buy deals with you and other telecom companies, it will be a fatal blow to many upcoming start-ups who may not have the financial power to strike such deals.
The internet was created to build a flatter world where everyone could access information without any barriers. We feel that your Airtel-Zero platform violates the principle of net neutrality and hence we urge you to dissolve your airtel zero platform to protect the cause of net neutrality. We appreciate that you had previously responded to one of our earlier letter, post which you had revoked your decision of charging extra on VOIP calls.
Rest assured, we are more than willing to pay more if you can assure us of improved voice and data services. We don’t want anything for free, but not at the cost of violating our internet freedom. Please consider your customer over your turnover.
