A group of militants ambush a convoy of the 6 Dogra Regiment in Chandel district of Manipur, killing 18 army personnel and injuring 11. The attack is believed to be the worst attack on the Indian Army in the last two decades. The NSCN-K and KYKL claim responsibility for the ambush.

The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), chaired by PM Modi, approves cross-border strikes in Myanmar to target militants from the NSCN-K.

A group of 35 NSCN-K rebels attack an Assam Rifles camp in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh. No casualties reported.
June 9, 2015
A team of about 70 commandos from 21 Para of the Indian Army carry out a cross border strike inside Myanmar. Divided in two groups, the army take down two camps run by NSCN-K and KYKL. The number of insurgents killed is not known yet, intelligence inputs indicate a figure of at least 68 dead and over 60 injured.
