Delhi government has decided to give suitable government jobs to acid attack survivors and a committee will be formed to look into the issues of acid attack survivors. An order of this effect was passed on Saturday by the Chief Minister.
This decision was taken after a representative of acid attack survivors met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
As per the records, there are about 35 acid attack survivors in the city. And service department has been instructed to look for vacancies to be filled by these survivors on contract or permanent basis.
“Depending on their qualifications, work experience and ability, jobs will be given to them. Some of them are visually impaired while others have mobility problems. Depending on their convenience, we will hire them,” Swati Maliwal, adviser to the Chief Minister told The Hindu.
We appreciate the step taken by Delhi Government. It will give new life and empower the acid attack survivors. Once they become self-dependent and working, they will live life with more confidence.
