Here we come across the case of another school dropout who paved the way for new era of electronics.  We are talking about the young scientist Manish Garg, 26-year-old from Chattisgarh’s Korea district.

He once dropped out from class 10. Then he began preparing for IIT-JEE and cleared it in 2012 after which he did his post-graduation from institute of Science, Education and Research, Kolkata. His interest in quantum optics took him to Germany two and a half years ago.

He is pursuing PhD at Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics (MPQ) in Germany. Manish along with other scientists of international repute has discovered a unique technique for using laser-light to drive electronic gadgets by controlling speed of electrons inside a solid.

As per Manish, this is the biggest discovery in the field of laser-light in the last 50 years. It’s the moment of pride for India as Manish is the only Indian in the group of scientists. “It’s the past breaking achievement. Laser-light technology will help in swift detection of cancer during an MRI and X-ray. Also, electronic gadgets could be powered by this source of energy and save electricity,” Manish said as reported by The Times Of India.

Normally, electronic gadgets like mobiles, television, and computers depend on motion of electrons inside transistors, which is limited to billions of operations to gigahertz frequencies or GHz. Manish comes from a humble background.

While speaking to The Times Of India, he said, “Fastest energy is produced by converting laser-light into radiations, 20 times higher than laser. When electronic motion will be driven by laser pulses, capability of performing 1015 oscillations PHz frequency will be approximately million times faster than the current speed of electronics.” While adding further to the technical aspect he said that for the first time electron’s motion inside a bulk solid was controlled at PHz.

The Logical Indian community acknowledges Manish’s efforts and his zeal to achieve something big in life and science can’t be limited to one country. He not only made his family proud but every Indian heart must swell with pride.
