After the Bihar verdict gave thumping majority to the alliance of RJD-JDU-Congress and 58 seats to BJP, the social media is full of abusive comments on people of Bihar who failed to vote BJP to power.
Lalu Yadav ruled Bihar for 15 years and gave a rule where Kidnapping, murders and corruption became daily part of the lives of the people. The period is called Jangal Raj for a reason. Out of all the parties who fought the election, Lalu Yadav led RJD got the maximum of 80 seats.
People who are from Bihar and even those who are not from there seem quite sympathetic to them and are slurring abusive comments and are criticising the people of Bihar calling them uneducated, ignorant and someone who deserved to live in the pathetic condition and laughed off. There are many who are even hoping they get Jungal Raj so that get their lessons right.
The people who have voted RJD-JDU to power are the ones who gave BJP 31 out of 40 seats in Loksabha. These are the same “intelligent” and “smart” voters who voted for BJP in Loksabha Elections and now chose to vote for Mahagathbandhan (MGB). So, it hardly makes any point to bash the voters.
There are many reasons people vote for a political party. This time more than 9 Lakh voters excercised NOTA option and the number is rising with every state election, which shows the lack of right options to the voters.
Many may have found reasonable to vote for a lesser evil and what they felt was best in their interest according to their own judgment.
Whether they made a right or wrong choice only time will unfold. But what we can do is hope that the new government works for the people and fulfill the promises they made instead of slurring abuses and hoping bad. India will only develop when every state will develop and so we hope Bihar develops.
