Just launched Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali noodles gets into major trouble immediately after it was launched on Monday.

Much has been happening in the Noodles business lately, Maggi ban and controversy around it wiped out Nearly Rs 10,000 Crore from Nestles market cap in trades.

This created vacuum in the market and new players jumped in. Nestle managed to come of it and resumed production yet Baba Ramdev’s Patajali Noodles is considered to be a tough rival seeing Baba and Patanjali’s popularity.

Quashing Baba’s plans FSSAI has said it did not obtain approval. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) Chairperson Ashish Bahuguna told The Economic Times that no approval or license has been granted to Patanjali for its instant noodles.

“For instant noodles, the companies need to take prior approval. They (Patanjali Ayurved) have not taken approval for it,” he said to The Economics Times.

“Patanjali Ayurved has approvals for other products but they don’t have approval for instant noodles. As of now only 10 companies have approval for instant noodles,” Bahaguna added.

Surprisingly the noodles display “FSSAI license number 10014012000266” on its packets. But the FSSAI denied having given any such license to the product.

According to media reports Patanjali Ayurved, the FMCG venture has not applied for approvals of Patanjali Noodles.
On Monday Patanjali launched the noodle pricing Rs. 15 per packet.

We hope FSSAI and Patanjali come to understanding and the product gets necessary approvals or gets ban if it doesn’t qualify. Because any wrong from any party will cost customers money and health.
