UP Sub-Inspector Ashutosh Dixit Receives DGP Commendation Disc for Rescuing Pregnant Woman in Ambulance

In a remarkable act of bravery, Sub-Inspector Ashutosh Dixit of the Mohanlalganj police station was awarded the DGP Commendation Disc by UP Police chief Prashant Kumar for his quick thinking in a critical situation. The incident occurred on November 6 when an ambulance transporting a woman in labour became trapped amid a dispute near Ahmed Khera village, leading to a crowd blocking the vehicle. Inspector Dixit pacified the crowd and drove the ambulance to ensure the woman reached the hospital safely. Following this heroic act, four individuals were arrested based on the victim’s complaint, and Inspector Dixit received widespread praise from the woman’s family and the community.

A Heroic Intervention 

The incident began on November 6 when an ambulance carrying Suman, a pregnant woman in labour, encountered a blockage caused by a dispute among locals. Devendra Yadav, the ambulance driver, was caught in this situation and unable to proceed. Upon receiving instructions from ACP Mohanlalganj, Inspector Dixit quickly arrived at the scene. He not only calmed the agitated crowd but also took charge of driving the ambulance himself. “I had to act quickly; lives were at stake,” he stated after successfully transporting Suman to the hospital just in time for her delivery.
