Yashoda Lodhi, known as ‘English With Dehati Madam’, is an English educator and content creator from Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh. She studied up to Class 12 and taught herself English by listening to English-speaking videos and practising what she heard. Her journey gained fresh attention in October 2026 after actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared one of her videos on Instagram.

From Class 12

Yashoda belongs to Lodhan Ka Purwa village in the Sirathu Nagar panchayat of Kaushambi district. She completed her formal education up to Class 12. She has spoken about initially struggling to speak English and deciding to learn it herself. She began by listening to other people’s videos and imitating what she heard. After about 15 days of listening practice, she began speaking and creating lessons in her own style.

Building Her Channel

Yashoda launched her YouTube channel, ‘English With Dehati Madam’, on December 26, 2023. Her content focuses on spoken English, everyday conversations and commonly used phrases, using practical situations to explain the language. She has built a large online audience through these lessons and uses digital platforms to teach English in a simple and accessible manner.

Priyanka’s Shout-Out

In October 2026, Yashoda recorded an English-learning video while working on her farm. She later posted the video on Instagram. Priyanka Chopra Jonas subsequently shared the video on her Instagram Story, an unexpected gesture that Yashoda said made her day special. Following the recognition, Yashoda’s Instagram following crossed four lakh. She thanked Chopra and encouraged her followers not to underestimate their small efforts.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

Yashoda Lodhi’s journey demonstrates how self-learning and digital platforms can create new opportunities beyond conventional classrooms. Her story is not simply about learning English, but about turning a personal learning journey into a way of helping others.

Recognition from a public figure may bring attention, but her work was built through continued practice and consistent content creation. Can greater access to digital learning help more people turn their skills and experiences into opportunities to teach others?
