Popular Patna educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, received significant legal relief on 20 June 2026, when a Patna Civil Court extended his interim protection from arrest. The case stems from a violent midnight clash on 2 June 2026 involving stone-pelting and gunfire outside his institute, Khan Global Studies, at Musallahpur Hat.
The dispute involves competing perspectives: the Patna Police have booked Khan Sir under abetment and the Arms Act based on viral videos of his guards firing weapons; Khan Sir’s defense maintains the guards acted in self-defense against a mob orchestrated by rival institute director Roshan Anand; and Anand counter-alleges a conspiracy. In the latest development, after the police submitted the case diary, the court ordered that no coercive action be taken against Khan Sir and three staff members, scheduling the final arguments for 25 June 2026.
The Midnight Clash at Musallahpur Hat
The controversy erupted late on the night of 2 June 2026 outside the premises of Khan Sir’s coaching institute, Khan Global Studies (KGS), located in the bustling educational hub of Musallahpur Hat in Patna. According to police records, a violent dispute broke out between the staff and affiliates of Khan Sir’s institute and those of a rival coaching center, Gyan Bindu GS Academy, headed by Roshan Anand.
The altercation rapidly escalated into chaotic street violence involving heavy stone-pelting, physical assaults, and vandalism targeting the KGS premises. The chaos intensified when gunshots were allegedly fired into the air, causing panic in the locality. A digital firestorm ignited soon after when video footage surfaced on social media platforms showing two security guards associated with Khan Sir’s institute firing weapons during the melee.
Escalating Rivalries and Legal Aftermath
The Patna Police took swift note of the public disorder and the viral video footage, launching a rigorous investigation under the Kadamkuan Police Station. Authorities quickly identified and detained the two security guards spotted in the viral footage, seizing their weapons for forensic examination.
As the investigation deepened into the institutional rivalries triggering the clash, the police filed a formal First Information Report (FIR). Khan Sir, along with other key management members, was named in the FIR under charges of abetment (encouraging a crime) and sections of the Arms Act, relating to accusations that the guards acted under his directives.
The case has highlighted a bitter professional rivalry. While Khan Sir’s legal team claimed that individuals linked to the rival institute orchestrated the attack to defame KGS, Roshan Anand accused Khan Sir of masterminding a conspiracy against him. Anand himself was arrested in connection with the clash and spent 12 days in jail before securing bail, after which he staged protests demanding Khan Sir’s immediate arrest.
Temporary Relief Extended
Anticipating police action, Khan Sir’s legal counsel moved the Patna Civil Court to file for anticipatory bail, securing an initial interim stay on 9 June 2026. During the follow-up hearing on 20 June 2026, the Patna Police presented their official case diary and compiled evidence before the court for judicial review.
Khan Sir’s advocate, Arvind Kumar Mauwar, argued that the popular teacher had no personal involvement or malicious intent, maintaining that the charges were born out of professional malice and that the guards fired purely in self-defense during a dangerous mob attack. After evaluating the documents, the court maintained its protection order, explicitly directing the Patna Police to refrain from taking any coercive action or executing an arrest against Khan Sir and three of his staff members.
However, this relief remains contingent upon full cooperation; the court has directed the educator to participate in the investigation and present himself for police questioning whenever summoned. While Khan Sir and his management staff receive temporary safety, his two security guards will continue to remain in judicial custody. The court has formally scheduled the next comprehensive hearing for 25 June 2026, where the public prosecutor will present final arguments after reviewing the returned case diary.
The Logical Indian’s Perspective
At The Logical Indian, we believe that education is the cornerstone of a civilized society, and coaching hubs should serve as sanctuaries of learning rather than arenas for violent corporate warfare. The escalating hostility, street violence, and use of firearms between rival coaching institutes in Patna are deeply unsettling. While the law must take its own course to determine accountability, this incident highlights a toxic undercurrent of commercial greed overshadowing the noble pursuit of teaching.
We advocate for peace, dialogue, and ethical coexistence within the educational sector. True leadership in education lies not just in cracking competitive exams, but in fostering empathy, harmony, and safe spaces for the millions of young minds who look up to these educators as role models.
