Marking its fifth international market, Vietnam’s Green SM has launched Green SM Limo in Delhi-NCR. With a fleet of all-electric VinFast vehicles, trained drivers, integrated safety systems and partnerships across India’s travel ecosystem, the company is betting on premium, sustainable mobility to carve a place in the country’s competitive ride-hailing sector
Vietnam-based Green SM has marked its India debut with the launch of Green SM Limo, a fully electric taxi service that will initially operate across Delhi-NCR. The service will deploy the seven-seater VinFast Limo Green EV through app-based bookings, with the company looking to widen access to sustainable mobility, generate employment opportunities, and strengthen its global footprint.
Green SM officially commenced operations in New Delhi on World Environment Day, making India its fifth international market after Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and the Philippines.
With this launch, the company is bringing its all-electric mobility ecosystem to one of the world’s largest ride-hailing markets. Operations will begin across major locations in Delhi-NCR, with expansion plans expected to follow in line with customer demand.
At the centre of the offering is the VinFast Limo Green, a seven-seater electric SUV designed specifically for mobility services. The vehicle is positioned to serve a wide range of travel requirements, including daily commutes, airport transfers, family outings and corporate travel.
Founded in Vietnam in 2023, Green SM has expanded rapidly over a relatively short period. Within three years, the company established a presence in four international markets, each with its own regulatory environment, consumer expectations and infrastructure dynamics.
Its operating model is built around a fully electric fleet, professionally trained drivers and a service framework that the company describes as “Ride 5 Star.”

The Formula Behind Green SM’s Global Expansion
Every vehicle within the Green SM fleet is a VinFast Limo Green, a seven-seater electric SUV purpose-built for premium passenger transportation. The selection of the vehicle reflects the company’s focus on the higher end of the mobility segment and its belief that there is significant demand for a dependable and uniform ride experience across Indian cities.
Driver partners undergo extensive training that covers multiple aspects of service delivery. The programme focuses on road safety standards, electric vehicle operations, customer interaction practices, service etiquette and responsible conduct, all aimed at ensuring a consistent passenger experience.
According to the company, every driver is expected to uphold five core values: safety, dedication, professionalism, honesty and responsibility.
Passenger convenience has also been factored into the offering. The vehicles come equipped with drinking water, wet tissues and other basic amenities designed to make journeys more comfortable.
Beyond comfort, Green SM has prioritised safety through its Secure-to-Safe system, which includes:
- Interior and exterior camera coverage
- AI-powered monitoring technology
- Emergency support buttons for drivers as well as passengers
A High-Profile Entry On World Environment Day

At the launch ceremony, Nguyen Van Thanh, GSM’s Global CEO, highlighted the significance of the Indian market. “This is the first time a green mobility company from Vietnam has come to one of the most dynamic countries in the world. India is a land of deep history, a strong economy, and a powerful desire to grow,” he said.
That vision underpins Green SM’s decision to make India its next destination for expansion. The launch event, held at Bharat Mandapam, attracted between 500 and 600 attendees, including government officials, business partners, employee representatives and diplomatic delegates, among them representatives from the Embassy of Vietnam in India.
The programme began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome address from Thanh.
Expanding on the company’s aspirations, he said, “I believe the strong friendship between Vietnam and India will continue to grow, beginning new ideas, shared values, and lasting partnerships between our two nations. India is a country where big dreams come to life. And today, Green SM is proud to become a small part of that story.”
The speakers who followed reinforced Green SM’s broader message around credibility and long-term commitment. Rao Narbir Singh, Haryana’s Minister for Industries & Commerce and Environment, addressed attendees, alongside Dr. Virinder Sharma from the Commission for Air Quality Management, highlighting both the regulatory and environmental relevance of the company’s entry into India.

Partnerships Take Centre Stage
One of the most significant moments of the ceremony was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Five Indian companies joined as founding members of “Green Alliance Frontier”, Green SM’s global platform for organisations aligned with sustainable development goals.
The founding partners included:
- MakeMyTrip (represented by Senior Vice President, Mayank Chopra)
- MoveInSync (represented by Co-Founder and CEO, Deepesh Agarwal)
- Routematic (represented by Co-Founder and Executive Director, Kavitha Ramachandragowda)
- ixigo (represented by Vice President, Karan Arora)
- TBO.com (represented by Vice President, Nipun Bansal)
Together, these companies engage with millions of commuters, corporate travel planners and leisure travellers across the country. Their participation from the outset indicates Green SM’s intention to build scale through partnerships.
In that context, Green Alliance Frontier serves not only as a collaboration platform but also as a statement of the company’s broader ambitions. The initiative signals Green SM’s aspiration to evolve beyond being solely a fleet operator and position itself as a larger mobility platform.

The Road Ahead
For the initial phase, Green SM will operate in select parts of Delhi-NCR. Customers can access the service through the Green SM app, available on the App Store and Google Play, via a dedicated hotline, or by hailing vehicles within operational zones.
To celebrate the launch, the company is offering a 50% discount on app-based bookings, capped at Rs 250, until June 11, 2026.
The longer-term question is whether Green SM can convert a well-executed launch and strong partnership network into sustained momentum within India’s highly competitive mobility landscape. What is already evident, however, is that the company has experience managing international expansion, has developed a distinct service identity, and has put in place the fleet and driver infrastructure needed to support its ambitions in the market.
