A heartwarming video of a schoolgirl named Sakshi breaking into tears of joy after passing her Class 10 board exams has captured the internet’s heart. Upon receiving her results, Sakshi immediately called her mother to share the milestone, a moment made possible through the unwavering support of Thansingh Ki Pathshala.

This educational initiative, run by Delhi Police Head Constable Than Singh, provides free education and nutrition to underprivileged children near the Red Fort. The viral footage, which highlights the emotional bond between the mentor and student, has sparked a nationwide conversation on the transformative power of accessible education for children from marginalised backgrounds.

A Call of Triumph: “Mummy, Main Pass Ho Gayi”

The emotional core of the story lies in the raw, unfiltered reaction of Sakshi, the daughter of a migrant labourer, as she realized she had overcome the odds. In the video, Head Constable Than Singh is seen holding the phone, telling her mother, “Aapki beti pass ho gayi hai” (Your daughter has passed), before handing it to a beaming Sakshi.

Her voice cracked with excitement as she delivered the news before collapsing into a grateful hug with Mr. Singh. For Sakshi, this was a victory over a cycle of poverty; she is one of the oldest students at the Pathshala and has remained committed to her studies despite significant financial pressures.

The Khaki Mentor of Red Fort

The backdrop of this success story is as unconventional as it is inspiring. Since 2015, Head Constable Than Singh has operated his “Pathshala” out of a parking lot near the Red Fort. What began with just four children has grown into a vital community hub where over 100 students many of whom were previously engaged in rag-picking or child labour receive free books, uniforms, and daily nutritious meals.

Singh started the school after noticing children in his patrolling area losing their future to substance abuse and a lack of guidance. By bridging the gap between the streets and formal schooling, Singh has successfully integrated dozens of children into mainstream education.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

At The Logical Indian, we believe that Sakshi’s tears are a powerful indictment of the barriers that still exist in our education system, but also a testament to the miracles that occur when empathy meets action. Head Constable Than Singh represents the very best of public service going beyond the call of duty to act as a guardian of dreams.

Stories like these remind us that kindness is a systemic solution; when we invest in the dignity of a child, we reshape the future of an entire family. We celebrate Sakshi’s resilience and Mr. Singh’s dedication as a blueprint for the harmony and progress we wish to see in India.
