Bhagalpur District Magistrate Naval Kishore Chaudhary confirmed that early signs of sinking were noticed near the affected portion, prompting immediate action. He stated that traffic was halted in time and all vehicles were safely diverted before the collapse occurred, preventing any casualties.

Senior police and administrative officials reached the site soon after the incident. The bridge was completely sealed off, and traffic between Bhagalpur and Naugachhia was suspended. Vehicles have been diverted via alternate routes, significantly increasing travel time for commuters in the region.
