In a significant achievement for rural education, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) declared the Class 10 and 12 board results on April 23, 2026, where girls secured the top positions in both categories. Kashish Verma and Anshika Verma jointly topped the High School (Class 10) exams with a stellar 97.83%, while Shikha Verma emerged as the state topper for Intermediate (Class 12).

Overall, girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 93.76% in Class 10 compared to 87.30% for boys. This year’s results highlight a powerful narrative of resilience, as the top achievers hail from humble farming backgrounds in Sitapur and Barabanki, proving that dedication transcends limited resources

Breaking Barriers: The Faces of Success

The 2026 results brought a wave of celebration to rural Sitapur, with Kashish Verma (Class 10) and Shikha Verma (Class 12) both daughters of farmers clinching the highest honors. Kashish, a student at Babu Ram Savitri Devi Inter College, shared her top rank with Anshika Verma of Barabanki, both scoring an impressive 587 out of 600.

Addressing the media, board officials noted that the evaluation of over 27 lakh students was completed in a record 15 working days.

“The consistent performance of our girl students is a testament to the changing social fabric and the priority families are now placing on their daughters’ education,” an official stated during the press conference at the Prayagraj headquarters.

A Simple Guide: How to Check Your Results

For parents and students who may find the online process daunting, the board has simplified the digital access to marksheets. Follow these easy steps to see your performance:

  • Step 1: Open your web browser and visit the official website: upresults.nic.in or upmsp.edu.in.
  • Step 2: Click on the link that says “U.P. Board High School (Class X) Examination – 2026 Results” or “U.P. Board Intermediate (Class XII) Examination – 2026 Results.”
  • Step 3: Enter your Roll Number and the School Code (as mentioned on your admit card).
  • Step 4: Submit the details, and your marksheet will appear on the screen. You can download or print it for future reference.

Consistent Excellence and Rural Triumph

This year’s academic performance reflects a steady upward trend in Uttar Pradesh’s educational outcomes. The Class 10 overall pass percentage reached 90.4%, a slight improvement from previous years, with girls maintaining a lead of over 6% over their male counterparts.

This is not a standalone event; the 2024 and 2025 results also saw girls like Prachi Nigam and Anshi securing top spots, signaling a long-term shift in academic excellence.

The concentration of toppers from districts like Sitapur and Barabanki suggests that rural educational hubs are becoming increasingly competitive, challenging the traditional dominance of urban centers

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

At The Logical Indian, we believe these results are more than just numbers; they represent the breaking of glass ceilings in the heartland of India. The success of daughters from farming families is a powerful rebuttal to the age-old prejudice that rural or financial backgrounds limit one’s potential. We celebrate these young women not just for their marks, but for their role as symbols of hope and grit.

Their triumph is a victory for gender equality and a reminder that when provided with a fair platform, the girl child will always soar. We must continue to support rural infrastructure and inclusive education to ensure that every “Verma” or “Gupta” in every village has the same chance to shine.
