Security agencies across Punjab and Haryana have been placed on high alert following a threatening email warning of multiple bomb blasts on railway tracks scheduled for April 24. The anonymous communication, which surfaced on Thursday, specifically targets the critical Ambala-Delhi rail corridor and major stations including Ludhiana, Amritsar, and Bathinda.

Beyond infrastructure, the email issued chilling assassination threats against high-profile figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and the Chief Ministers of both states. In response, state police forces, the Government Railway Police (GRP), and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have intensified surveillance and patrolling to ensure public safety.

Security Intensified Across Key Hubs

The threat has triggered a massive security mobilisation, with authorities conducting extensive search operations at railway stations and along vulnerable stretches of track. In Ambala, security personnel have been deployed with sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squads to sweep the station premises.

“We are taking this threat very seriously. Vigilance has been increased at all entry and exit points, and we are working closely with intelligence agencies to trace the origin of the email,” stated a senior official from the Haryana Police.

Similar scenes were witnessed in Ludhiana and Amritsar, where commuters have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious baggage or activity to the authorities immediately.

A Pattern Of Rising Digital Threats

This incident is not an isolated one, as the region has seen a troubling spike in hoax threats and digital intimidation over recent months. Just weeks ago, several schools in Ludhiana and the Punjab and Haryana High Court were evacuated following similar email threats that were later declared hoaxes.

Furthermore, in January 2026, a blast on a railway track in Sirhind caused damage to a freight engine, heightening the sensitivity of security agencies toward railway infrastructure.

Officials are currently investigating whether these repeated threats are part of a coordinated effort to create domestic instability or the work of individual mischief-makers attempting to incite panic.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

At The Logical Indian, we believe that such threats whether real or hoaxes are direct attacks on the peace and mental well-being of our citizens. While our security forces work tirelessly to protect us, it is imperative for us as a society to respond with composure rather than panic. Fear is the primary tool of those who wish to disrupt our daily lives, and the best way to counter it is through unity, communal harmony, and a commitment to non-violence.

We must support the authorities in their duties while ensuring that misinformation does not spread through our social circles. Let us stand together in fostering an environment where dialogue and safety prevail over intimidation and hate.
