In Nagpur, police have arrested an NGO director, identified as Mohammed Riyaz Mohammed Fazil Qazi, after multiple female employees accused him of molestation, workplace harassment, and coercive behaviour. At least four women have reportedly filed complaints, prompting the registration of an FIR and immediate action by authorities.
Officials confirmed that the accused is in police custody and that statements from other employees are being recorded as part of an ongoing investigation. Women’s rights groups have called for strict accountability, while authorities say further charges may be added based on evidence.

According to police officials, the case came to light after survivors approached authorities detailing repeated instances of inappropriate physical contact, verbal harassment and intimidation within the NGO’s office. Some complainants have also alleged that they were pressured to follow certain religious practices at the workplace, contributing to a coercive and uncomfortable environment.
