The vehicle, carrying nearly 30 passengers from Jaipur, flipped onto its side near Hanuman Mandir Chowk, trapping commuters amidst shattered glass and mangled metal. Emergency responders, including the Delhi Fire Services and local police, launched a swift rescue operation aided by residents and a nearby JCB machine to extricate those pinned under the wreckage.

“The passengers were trapped inside and crying for help,” a senior police official noted, describing the urgency of the moment. Among the victims, 30-year-old Shehbaj Alam from Uttar Pradesh has been identified, while the identity of a second male victim remains unknown.
Local heroes and patrolling staff played a critical role in the immediate aftermath; a passerby using a JCB helped stabilize the bus, allowing Constable Rohit and others to pull 23 survivors from the debris.
