It’s so pleasant to learn about those distinguished persons who put everything at stake to make the dream of sanitised India come true.

As per Times of India, a 102 year old woman of Chhattisgarh sold her goats to build toilet in Kotabharri village. Kuwarbai Yadav heeded a call from Prime-Minister Narendra Modi for maintaining cleanliness and she raised Rs 22,000 to build toilet.

She was also seen motivating people to achieve open-defecation free zone. “Life in villages and forests is replete with struggle. I attended a ‘chaupal’ where I came to know about diseases that could spread from open defecation. I thought of doing something on my own. I sold off my goats and told everyone about my plan to construct a toilet,” said Kuwarbai. This sparked enthusiasm in a village of 450 residents: They took a pledge to construct toilets at their homes.

The district administration is not far behind and has joined in the efforts to construct toilets in the village. The Clean India Campaign was started by PM Modi on 2nd Oct 2014 where he appealed the masses to construct toilets in every village.

Community leaders Luvkush Dhruv and Bhaghelaram said earlier, villagers didn’t consider defecating in jungles as unhygienic. “It’s a positive achievement that they are constructing toilets to give up the old practice,” they said.
