Gruesomeness kept on haunting a 15-year-old Kerala girl from Thiruvananthapuram, who was allegedly raped by more than 10 men for nearly two months. The girl has been rescued a week ago and still remains to be in a state of shock.

However, this monstrous plight could not tame the spirit of this little girl as she continued to attend school through the two months that she was reportedly raped and blackmailed. She even took her board examinations of Class X, according to an official’s statement given to The Indian Express.

The girl used to stay with her mother and grandmother in the outskirts of the city. However, she hardly interacted with them and found more solace in her friends’ company. She had told the police that the main accused was an auto-rickshaw driver named Aamir, who contacted her on her mobile. On February 2, Aamir had called her to help as her cousin was engaged in a scuffle after being drunk.

According to The Indian Express, Aamir, along with one of his friends Anoop took the girl to an abandoned area and raped her. They filmed the whole incident on their mobile and blackmailed her saying that they will put those videos on social media if she told about it to anyone. She had been abused at least 10 times by several men later in Aamir’s house in the next two months. The girl had told the police that people used to force her to drink alcohol and smoke ganja and Aamir would drop her home or give her money to reach home.

On few occasions, she was forced to stay overnight at Aamir’s house and she had to convince her mother that she was staying at her friend’s place.

On March 30, when she was being taken by Aamir and Shah, at that time she started screaming, which alerted local people, who forced Aamir’s auto-rickshaw to stop. Aamir and Shah fled the scene.

Police later arrested Shah and along with eight other people who were involved in the case. The police have reported that all the men were young and engaged in casual jobs or work as drivers.

The Logical Indian appreciates the indomitable courage of the girl and at the same time, we hope the culprits get the punishment they deserve.
